A recognized thought leader in the field of vehicle-to-grid technology, Prof. Slutzky is founder and Chairman of the Board of Fermata Energy. He launched the company with the specific purpose to unlock the value in EV batteries, making EVs more cost effective for the driving public, and to harness the aggregate capacity of EVs to provide much-needed grid resilience.

He has earned the reputation of being a policy wonk and serial entrepreneur committed to preservation of sensitive ecological systems, protecting the long-term integrity of our biosphere, and working to solve the challenges of global warming. In addition to more than 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur, David served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the White House and EPA during the Clinton Administration. At the White House, he coordinated the International Task Force of the President’s Council on Sustainable Development, where he focused his efforts on the environmental and labor implications of international trade agreements, such as the Multilateral Agreement on Investments.

Prior to Fermata Energy, David co-founded Skeo Solutions, an environmental policy consulting firm. He is a Research Associate Professor in the Science, Technology and Society Program at the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science. Slutzky earned his BA and pursued graduate studies in Political Philosophy at the University of Chicago, and received his law degree from the Program on Energy and the Environment at Chicago-Kent College of Law.

As CEO of Fermata Energy, Tony Posawatz brings a career of experience in automotive-tech advancement. He was formerly the Executive-in-Charge of Global Electric Vehicle Development and Vehicle Line Director, Chevrolet Volt at General Motors (GM). He also served as the President/CEO of Fisker Automotive and has been a Board Director of several auto-tech companies (Metalsa, INRIX, Nexeon, Spiers New Technologies (SNT), Envision Solar - EVSI/Beam Global, Renovo Auto, Atieva/Lucid Motors) and an Advisory Board member of Fermata Energy, Secure America’s Future Energy - SAFE Electrification Coalition. Tony is considered an expert on the future of mobility, the electric driving ecosystem and the integration of future transportation technologies - ACES (Autonomous, Connected, Electric, Shared).

Bringing more than $2 billion in M&A and restructuring deal experience to Fermata Energy, John Wheeler is focused on the rapid commercialization and deployment of vehicle-to-everything solutions. He develops the use cases and investment structures that make V2G a fast-growing reality and widely sought after grid-edge solution throughout North America and Europe. 

John also worked with green visionary, Bill McDonough, advising Fortune 500  companies on renewable and energy efficiency strategies. Before joining   Fermata, John previously served as a fellow with the Environmental Defense Fund, where he helped SAP Labs evaluate their green software portfolio and achieve their goal of becoming 50% renewably-powered.  John holds an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, a B.S. in Environmental Design from Art Center College of Design, and a B.S. in Economics and Philosophy from University of Virginia.

With over three decades of experience in electric propulsion, lithium battery development, and advanced mobility technologies, Alex's expertise is instrumental in leading Fermata Energy into its next growth phase. Her previous roles include Chief Technology Officer at Brunswick Corporation and notable positions at industry leaders such as Polaris, Stellantis, Johnson Controls, AVL, and General Motors.

A well-known expert in electromagnetics and design of magnetic devices for power electronics applications in utility application markets, Glenn Skutt leads the development of the bidirectional charging hardware and electrical engineering design team at Fermata Energy. He has served as the principal investigator for multiple government research projects and critical contracts in high reliability power electronics and power inverter operation. He is the founder and president of PowerHub Systems.

Aaron Gillmore, a clean transportation and renewable energy industry veteran with over three decades of experience, currently serves as the Chief Commercial Officer at Fermata Energy. His leadership roles at WAVE and BYD, where he introduced growth strategies and led large-scale, zero-emission fleet deployments, reflect his commitment to fostering sustainable, clean transportation.
